Chiang Mai is Thailand's major centre for quality handicrafts. Hundreds of shops all over Chiang Mai
sell hilltribe and Northern Thandicrafts. Besides, the town is surrounded by small cottage factories and
workshops where visitors can watch artisans at work.

Sunday Night Market - Tha Pae Gate (Ratchadamnoen Walking Street )
The Sunday Market features shopping at reasonable prices for various kinds
of goods, ranging from local handicraft products to portrait paintings.
Besides, local food and music are also key attractions to both locals and
tourists. Expect to find activities of all kinds alongside special theme events
for young and old alike. This pedestrian market starts around 4 p.m. and runs
to 10 p.m.


Night Bazzar -
Comprising numerous stalls and shops stretching along a long section of
Chang Khlan Road, this big famous night market offers many good buys
including hilltribe crafts, hand-woven fabrics, clothes, silver jewellery,
antiques, lacquerware, woodcarvings, pottery, basketry, and other local
items. Due to the keen competition, buyers can easily make a good bargain
here.

Saturday Walking Street  (Wualai Walking Street)
Is located to the south west of the old city opposite the Chiang Mai Gate.  It is
open every Saturday from 4pm till midnight. Like the Chiang Mai Sunday
Market the road is closed to all vehicular traffic



Kad Suan Keaw (Kad Sum Murd - Midnight Market)
Takes place in front of Kad Suan Keaw Shopping Center on every Thursday
to Saturday from 6 p.m.-11 p.m

Central Airport Plaza
Anchored by a Robinson department store this mall is more upmarket with
more international brands and a more affluent clientele. The Northern Village
complex on the 2nd floor sells high-quality souvenirs with set prices. Silks
and ready-made clothes are good buys.

Near the night bazaar, this shiny shopping centre is a more legitimate
version than its grey-market counterpart in Bangkok. Mainly licensed
suppliers of electronic hardware, such as computers and cameras, fill the
space without a single bootleg software vendor in sight.

Kad Suan Kaew Shopping Centre
Kad Suan Kaew is the largest shopping centre in Chiang Mai. It is a huge and
sometimes confusing complex housing among others a hotel, mini bowling
alley, a department store, supermarket, food court, restaurants and cinema..

Maya opened February 2014.  This mall is located on the corner of Huay Kaew Rd
and Super Highway.  Maya is a special retail center, aiming to be the icon and

in Bangkok.
